Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2017 Kia Sportage, we're going to be installing Tekonsha's Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller. To help us get this installed, we're also going to be using a universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers.This brake controller's going to provide you with proportional braking for your trailer. What this means is that the internal inertia sensor is going to detect stopping in the vehicle to help apply the brakes appropriately to stop the load as necessary. Located on top of your brake controller, you'll have a boost button, and you can use this to help adjust on the fly for the weight of your trailer. A boost of one setting is for a trailer that weighs less than your vehicle. Boost two is for when it weighs roughly the same as your vehicle, and boost three is when your trailer weighs more than what your vehicle weighs. more
